Hey J.B., little Marine '03 question.

Professor, since there has been some USMC traffic on here lately, thought of a question. When did the Marines start serializing bolts, was that a WWII sorta' thing? Sorry if this has been answered before but I don't remember, over fifty now.

John is out of pocket for a short while. He can correct me later if necessary, but I believe the bolt number thing was WWII period.

I have been unable to pinpoint when the USMC began serializing bolts. My best guess is that it started in the very late 1930's.
