New from North Central North Carolina

I've only been seriously collecting for a couple years. I have owned and shot guns since I was a youngster. I'm retired now and have taken collecting as a hobby. I hope to learn a lot here.
    Thanks,
    Joe

    New guy

Did 23 years in the US Army as a tanker, retired in 2001 as a senior NCOIC instructor on the Abrams New Equipment Training Team (NETT) at Fort Hood TX. Grew up in South Texas, first firearm was a Mauser M98K my dad sporterized for me for deer hunting. It was a bring back from his Uncle who was in Bastogne in the winter of 1944. (Kind of wish he'd kept it original). Have been collecting firearms for a while now.

    Greetings to fellow collectors

Ive been a reader of this site for some time, but just never got around to joining.
I'm an avid collector of mil surplus firearms and also a student gunsmith (aren't we all?) I've had some formal training but most has been hands on "school of hard knocks".
Anyway I just love these older firearms. I wish they could talk. I'd buy them a beer.

    Thanks for a great website.

I'm a collector for many years and this forum is a good place to authenticate your rifle.
