    Old USAF Shooter

I started collecting US post civil war rifles in 1967. I am a member of The Garandicon Collectors Association. Right now I am looking for a extractor for a Remington-Lee 1885 45-70.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. new to forum

Looking forward to learning about the CMPicon M1icon Garand I just purchased. We stopped in at the Anniston AL store Friday and was able to purchase it on the spot. I would have brought it home but saved the sales tax by waiting till Tuesday to get it. It is the last of three guns I have always wanted to own the first being a 357 Mag. My choice there was a S & W 686 7 shot with a 5" barrel, next was a 30-30, my choice there was a Henry H0009B with the brass receiver and now the M1. I got to shoot an M1 in the Navy back in 1965, only shot it a few times but that was enough to get me hooked just took a long time to get one.

My first question is regarding Ammo, I bought 200 rounds from CMP and 25 clips, its a start but is there better from a different source at reasonable prices? the stock is new and while I am a fairly good woodworker I'm not sure I want one of my high-gloss finishes on this rifle, what might some of you suggest?

I will look forward to hearing from some of you.

I'm a life time shooter (first trigger pulled at 3 years, a pellet pistol) Lee Enfield addict and all round .303 enthusiast. I reload and have an interest in making an accurate Lee Enfield using the improvements that rolled into the L42a1. I'm interested in learning the details of how the L42 was assembled and tuned.

    Smile Hello

Hi everyone, I am actually Frenchicon and do not know much about French rifles. I have a MAS 1936 with a serial number 2 _ 75549. I was told that the serial is supposed to start with a letter but this rifle does not ? Any idea ?

    Thanks a lot.
    Henri.
