Greetings
Hello fellow milsurpers. I am a newbie to these forums. I hope to learn as well as to impart any useful info I may have concerning military curios and relics. Recently aquired a couple of Type38 Arisaka rifles, a Type38 "cavalry carbine", and a Mukden Type38 rifle. I will be back with some questions about these later. Talk to you all soon. Best Regards, MDwabbit.

Old Guy Newbie
Old guy, tommy atkins , has a new toy. I'm looking at my LE I and wondering what the heck? It has a 25+ barrel, no mag cutoff from factory, a bayonet fitting like the long barreled guns, no cleaning rod provision, safety like the No.1 LE. Couldn't properly decipher Skinnington's book to identify it. Anyone know what I have my hot little hands on? In short, long of tooth, short of knowledge, not afraid to ask.

I've been shooting milsurps for some time--Mausers, but just got hooked on SMLEs. I've got two: No.1 1917 and No.4 1945 Longbranch.
I'm not a collector, mainly love to shoot them--but I will keep them original. (need to replace some screws on the No.4.)
I've already learned a lot from this forum--thanks!

Howdy, enjoy US Krags and trapdoors. Thinking about getting a Beaumont Vitali , 71 Mauser or other 11MM bolt gun

Greetings from the Cariboo
Just purchased a 1945 No4 mk1 FTR Sporter and have been actively seeking history on this rifle.I am not a collector but was just looking for a good deal on a gun for deer hunting this year. I am amazed at the wealth of info out there and am realizing I may have got a very good deal indeed.I hope you all can help wrap up my findings. Getting some pictures together and will post a thread.
