A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Good day everybody, retired Navy subs. I collect and restore 2a and 2a1 Ishapores (x8). Own a few Enfields (x2) among many many others. I enjoy reading the threads. As somebody once said "Life is to short to shoot an ugly gun".

    Hello fellow collectors!

Joining as a new member, I belong to other milsurp forums also. My first milsurp was a M1903 Siamese Mauser in 8X50 MM purchased in San Leandro at Trader's in 1972. Hope to learn lots of new facts from my peers..

Hello to the board. My first post. I don't have much collecting experience, but it looks like there is plenty of great info here.

    Just wanted to Introduce myself.
Have been collecting firearms for 5 years now.

My grandfathers neighbour passed away and I was asked to clean the house. His wife gave me a box and said "put it at the side of the road" When I opened it up it was full of his journals,Uniform and a hitler youth knife.

From that moment I was hooked. I have have trouble choosing my area to collect but have loved hearing and reading everyones posts.

    Thanks Ben
