    New guy here

I have lurked here on and off for a couple of years. My firearms interests are varied and include US and Foreign milsurp weapons. Recently my brothers and I inherited a fairly large collection of WW2 Germanicon , Japaneseicon and US weapons and militaria. Hopefully I will be able to tap into the collective knowledge of the members for info.

Hey guys. Am new to this ,but love to learn and shoot the breeze about firearms. I have a Garandicon in nice shape that has some strange markings on the barrel Looks like a crown with cross under it. Also has"Tonfer" stamped next to it. All Springfield Armory, barrel stamped 43. Any clues would help. Rlewis

    Greetings from Burlington Ontario!

Just wanted to get my first post out of the way. There seems to be a lot of info here. I'm looking forward to reading up. I'm new to shooting rifles and mil surp. I had no idea this could be so involved.

I recently bought a beautiful laminated SKS that shoots great! And a not so great shooting but nice looking Mosen. I've been searching on ways to get the Mosin to shoot a little better... accurizing if you will.

There doesn't seem to be much in the way of accessories in my area locally so I guess I'll just have to keep it close to stock and shim or bed the stock.

Anyone have any recommendations on how to check the counter bored crown? Just a flashlight and magnifiying glass? I'm having trouble getting the light and a line of sight down the muzzle to see the condition of it.

    New Member from Florida

New member from Florida here. Glad I found this site. I am also glad there are no political postings here. I am getting tired of reading all the political rants on other forums. This is a pleasant change. I love bolt action and single shot rifles, both milsurp and commercial. My favorite milsurp cartridge is the 7.65 x 53 Argentineicon. I love shooting and reloading for my milsurp rifles.

    new member

    hello to all
I have been hunting, shooting and collecting for 45 years or so.Where does the time go?
I love your forum, been to the sight about a 100 times in the last year. Lots of great info,
anyway my father in law has had a M-2 carbine in his attic for the last 60 years.A bring back

from the Korean war as a vet. An inland w/brl date 3-45,sr#6978880 in very nice shape.I am
now the new owner ,I almost cried as i torch cut the receiver in halve. What a difference a
    # makes on that receiver. Also trashed the selector and disconnector levers. I believe it is now legal. It has mostly inland marked parts and I believe original brl. It has rebuild mark from the
Benicia arsenal. I have enclosed pictures.

Hey all. Nathaniel Crunkleton on other forums. Looking to buy a 1903A3 to shoot in Rifleman's Weekend at River Bend -- will make a post over there as well.

    Hello from Pedley, CA

How are you all doing? I'm now a real addict to the old military surplus rifles..... never thought that could happen, but I really like well-made, well-crafted things, and where else can you find so much of that? My oldest is an 1899 Swedishicon Mauser, and the newest is one of those M1903 A3's put together by Rock River Machine Works.
