I was issued a M1 when i joined the air force in 1966 in was in the air police and was a security guard at a SAC base. Always like the rifle, always fired stright and true.

Just a quick Hi from up North, depending on where you live.
9 years in the reserves so the FN C1A1 is my first love.
But seeing as we can't buy them I went the closest I could.
Russian sks '53 and my newest a Polish M44 '54.

Hello! I have just signed up with this forum. I live in a small town about 60 miles SW of Houston, Texas. I am new to the world of collecting military rifles.
I purchased a new, never-fired, Lee-Enfield .303 at a gun show in Houston this past January. It is a No. 4, MK 2, Serial # UF 55 A 5760. It has a never-used bayonet. I will try to upload some photos of the rifle later.
I would like to find an original manual for this rifle. A copy would be fine, too. Any suggestions where I might find one? Thanks!

Hi everyone..new member here.
Don't have a Garand yet but I'm hoping to make the 2 hour drive to Anniston and pick one out.
I've just started reading this forum so I'm not quite up to speed on the M1 but it looks like there's lots of info here and knowledgeable folks.
So anyway...just glad to be here!

New Guy
G'day all,
Brand new and have something handed down that may be of interest. I've got what seems to be an authentic Lithgow No.6 Mk1 Jungle Carbine 'Experimental'.
The serial number is XP142 and all numbers match. It's in very good condition but the bore is quite dirty and needs a good clean. I had it initially appraised at a local gun store today and they got quite excited about it and said they wanted their local Enfield expert to have a look, but ballpark they said it was worth several thousands for a true collector, very rare.
Not sure if I want to sell it yet as it's an heirloom but am open to offers. My grandfather who handed it down to me was a kittyhawk/spitfire fighterpilot in the war, he must have acquired it along the way somehwere.
Obviously people will want photos, happy to send them to whoever wants them(for some reason I can't attach them directly to this post?? Each time I select the attachments icon it just brings up a blank popup window? Am I just a dickhead?)
Interested to hear peoples comments, the research I've done suggests that they are quite rare and most are in museums these days, is this true?
