A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Our Grandfathers did some horrible and inhuman things. We paid for them since 1945 not only with money. We learned that it is not so good to be proud of our nation by saying this loud. My opinion is that it is enough. We should be proud of our soldiers like you are. They are doing a good job and we lost many fine young men by serving in a foreign country and helping to rebuild a democratic structure with a saver life for the citizens. Thanks man.

I worked with a Germanicon mountain battalion when I was in 7th Corps in the late 70s/early 80s. I came in contact with a few very senior German NCOs that had service with the German army at the tail end of WW2 as teenagers. I found German soldiers to be proficient and squared away but I couldn't get used to the whole Beardicon and long hair thing that was going on then. It is time for the German military to be recognized as a modern fighting force. Too bad that so much of the civilian population is either apathetic towards world events or outright pacifists with left leanings.
