    Sportsman's Guide Bolts

Has anyone bought or seen the 1903 Springfield Bolt assembly's that Sportsmans Guide is selling?

Just wondering if they are Springfield's or someother maker?

They are 1903a3 bolts.Could be Remington, but could also be one of the others,Commercial Controls etc.As long as it head spaces it will be fine for a shooter 1903.If you need the 03 to be correct keep looking.

    Mine won't headspace

I bought a 03A3 bolt from SG a few years ago. It won't close on a go gauge I tried. Not sure the remedy for that, the rifle is tight. But I did keep it for parts and not sorry I bought it. Something to consider if you plan on using the bolt. HTH

Have heard many anecdotal stories of 03A3s with tight chambers. The fix for this is to ream the chamber a bit deeper until it will close on a go gauge. Or, keep trying bolts. YMMV, of course.

Southern Ohio Guns has/had cheap bolts. The Dealers Warehouse still has a few cheap bolts. Also Springfield Sporters has nice, cheap bolts. Sportsman Guide gouges the customer on shipping, watch out for "hidden" charges.
