    Need some help - BSA 1943 No.4 Mk1

There is a No.4 Mk1 that has just popped up for sale locally and I had a chance to check it out today. The rifle is a 1943 dated BSA (M47 marked) that hasn't been sporterized. The seller purchased the rifle about 30 years ago in its paper packaging from a surplus store. He's only used it for hunting but decided to get something new.
I'm new to collecting firearms so this is where I need some help. I just ordered Skennertonicon's book but it won't be in my hands for a while. Everything seems to be in pretty good condition as seen in the picture. As said previous, it's marked M47, dated 1943, I believe the serial number is in the M616 or M615 range (can't remember off the top of my head). Didn't notice any other markings apart from those and the No.4 on the side of the reciever. I was running out of time so I didn't get chance to see if the barrel had 2 or 5 grooves. The seller wants $275, is this a decent price?

Here is the only picture I have, it's from the seller's ad (I'm looking at the non-sporterized one).

    Thanks for any help!

At face value, with only that small pic to go by, I would say that $275 is a very reasonable price.

Depends where you are on the planet. Where I am (Canadaicon), a No4 in good shape for $275 would be a reasonably nice deal.
