    ? about markings on a safety

    this was on one of my garands from the CMPicon. I have never seen this type of marking before? Any ideas?

    I/ve never seen a safety that looked anything like that. Looks painted. The rifle was possible was returned to CMPicon for some reason and some parts got switched out before the return. It's happened.

    Its not painted its a grey park with a lot of oil on it. I have never seen that type of stamp.

    Interesting marking,almost looks laser etched or machined,not stamped.
