Older gunsmiths tend to have treasure troves in the "back room". Start hitting every little one-man gunsmith you can find. Ask about retirees as well. I know a guy in Washington State who had several Swede carbine stocks(!). You just gotta get out and look around. The smaller, the better.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. I have two Kar98AZ One a WWI bringback (Danzig 1918) by a member of the 75th BN CEF and one that came out of Germanyicon in 1972 (Erfurt 1915). The one from Germany had been "abused" due to their gun law affecting military firearms. This included spot welding the sights to 100 meters and removing the catch mechanism and spring. As well the bayonet lug had been discarded. I managed to get a new bayonet lug from Belgiumicon with the help of a Belgian Air Force Sgt. I bought a spare 98AZ bolt (for firing pin and spring) at a gun show in northern Ontario a few years ago. So I suspect parts are out there. It's amatter of finding them. Good luck! The AZ was used after WWI not just by the Reichswehr but also by police forces including the railway police and Einwohnerwehren so there must be some in the woodwork still.
