    need a gunsmith

I know I'll get some flack from this (maybe not), but what I want to do is swap the barrels on two M1s. I've got an SA mixmaster with an H&R barrel and an otherwise mostly matching H&R with an LMR barrel. I think the H&R would make a good project to restore, the SA will make a good shooter- it's too mixed up to be worth the restoration effort.
Cost is, as always, a consideration.
So-who do know that would do this (and maybe check headspace and all).
Ideally, a guy in the southern/central California area.
    Thanks all.

Depending on the serial # the LMR barrel could be correct for your rifle. Why do you want to change it?

With the bore gauge, it looks like the mw of a M14icon can be checked w/o removing the flash suppressor?
