Will FIOCCHI 3006A 150FMJ work in a Garandicon?

I never tried it, but certainly would if I had some. Maybe someone who shoots it will reply.

Cool It will but you will need an adjustable gas plug

Like most commercial ammo, it probably is to slow for the garand. Any ammo can be used in the garand provided an adjustable gas plug is used. I use one with a 308 garand I have with modern surplus, just to be safe. I have heard limited use of commercial ammo does no damage, but have no personal experience in that area. HTH

"most" is a tough word to use

actually ALL (100%) of the commercial 30.06 ammo I have tried in my Garands of over the years (I would guess about 10+ types of foreign and domestic ammo) seemed to shoot and function fine with normal ejection and nothing violent or strange. In fact, there is some commercial stuff that is absolutely SUPER.

In this category is Remigton Green Box and the South African stuff (Igman)d 150 grain soft point) Federal GMM etc. Even the Yugoicon (PRIV) and Russianicon stuff works OK despite a horrible muzzle flash and strange report. In fact, I once watched a couple of Nimrods go through almost a full ammo case of the Russian stuff in just an hour in two M1s at a range (blasting away).

I think the better option is buy ONE box of anything you like. If the stuff doesn't sling out brass 40 feet and/or doesn't seem to lead to violent op-rod movement, shoot the rest and buy more if you like.

To be honest with all involved, until I started frequenting these sort of sites I had never even HEARD that you couldn't use commercial ammo in M1icon's. Recently I used Walmart 150 gr soft point to obtain the brass I wanted for reloading. Then, I use full metal jacket and 50 grs of IMR 4895 like the cartridges of the world lists for US military loads. I've been shooting endless Garands since the first in about 1975 and never seen a problem. Not just one but probably a couple of dozen. I wouldn't use some of the ultra high pressure stuff, but it's too expensive for us up here in Canadaicon anyway.

I would second the comments above about commercial ammo. I've fired it in my Garands for over 40 years, occasionally, and no problems. All of my serious ammo is handloaded or milsurp, but occasionally I've had people give me a bag of old or unwanted commercial stuff and I can assure you that Remington and Winchester work fine. The ammunition companies could not afford to make anything that would damage any arm or pose a risk to the user.

The only thing I would say to add to this would to probably use an adjustable gas plug.
