Eddystone with JA barrel question

Greetings everyone, I have a question. I just purchased an eddystone wth a JA barrel. The rifle looks about 98%. I took it apart, degreased it, and I can't see any cracks around the barrel/receiver ring area. I have been told that it is unsafe to fire an eddystone that has been rebarreled due to receiver cracks caused by the rebarreling process. Of course, I found this out after I purchased it! Some "experts" tell me that it's fine to shoot. Some say it's not. I fired 30 rounds yesterday in defiance. No problems. Very accurate as well. The rifle looks like new! beautiful! Should I keep shooting, or am I in for disaster? CAn anyone shed some light on this subject?

The M-1917 has a well deserved reputation for strength and accuracy. Some had problems when new barrels were installed during rebuild. Yours obviously did not. Enjoy shooting it. You have a fine rifle that should give you many years of service. Sincerely. brucev.

iv rebarreld more 17,s then most gunsmiths,
and have only seen one 17 with a cracked receiver ring, and it wasnt from barrel installation, it had the original barrel that i removed.
you can run lighter fluid over the receiver ring, and let dry, watch, if it has a crack the fluid will stay in the crack, and take longer to dry.
i doubt very seriously that your rifle has an issue.

I've used gasoline and laquer thinner - all flammable be careful- if you are around a welding supply there is a crack detection kit that will show cracks/flawscomes in three parts -cleaner - penetrant- developer- too expensive for one gun though

I have yet to see a crack in a '17. Very uncommon. I have managed to bust a Low Number '03 receiver in half while rebarreling it. A whole 'nother story.
