S.E. Overtons first shipment of stocks..

Happen to read today in a history article of South Haven Michigan, that Overton shipped out their first shipment of carbine stocks on May 27 1942.
Article said by Wars end they had shipped out 2,661,054 stocks.
Couldn't find any info on hand guards.......maybe the same amount?
    That's a lot of Walnut.
Can't help but wonder how many stocks in total might have been made by all the suppliers.

    Just FYI

That is a lot of stocks! Many of those IO marked stocks are still around and in good shape with real cartouches...and can be had for a reasonable price. Said before, I'd rather have a real Inland stock on any make of carbine, than the correct for manufacturer stock with questionable markings.

I've got a book at home about Overton's stockmaking operations Charlie. When I get home tonight after my Elks initiation I'll peruse it to see if I can find out about those handguard quantities you're wondering about. Kind of curious myself!

    They want $5 for shipping.

I just bought one too, but from Scott Duff for $29.95 with free shipping. You save $5.05 that's over a 14% savings

Scott Duff Publications & Historic Martial Arms: M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, M1903, Krag, M1911A1

$5 is 4 Super Big Gulp Pepsi's. I like my caffeine cold. Or two drafts to share with a friend at happy hour.
