    Help with hand guard markings

I was hoping you guys could help with a quick question.

This is the hand guard that came with my QHMC CMPicon. There is a small w and a larger Z in the center.

    What does the Z indicate?

    Thanks in advance.

I agree. It is Winchester. You can see the small "w" as well. An "A" is another common letter you will find stamped in the barrel channel of the handguard as well. Looks like a very pretty piece of wood.

Thank you guys very much. I didn't know if the Z was original on put in during a rebuild.

This is from my CMPicon QHMC. The stock is Winchester too. It is in really good shape also.

    Brett
