    Sportered 03A3

Recently picked up a sportered 1917 and 1903A3. Both look like they can be re militarized fairly easily:

The 1917 is an Eddystone, with a High Standard barrel. The bore gauges just over a "0" on the CMPicon muzzle gauge and is shiny with strong rifling. The bolt will not close on a field gauge.

The 03A3 is in a nice looking maple stock. Hasn't arrived yet, but is described as being a Remington with metal intact and having a Smith Corona barrel with a "very good bore" . Came with a nice looking leather sling

Plan is to re-militarize them when I can find the wood.

There is an Eddystone stock out on Ebay right now. You only need the hand guards and you are back in business.

Chuck, I'll post some more pics of the stock when the 03A3 arrives.

Mark, I saw that on Ebay and am following it.

    Thanks

The 03A3 still has not arrived, but I discovered this additional pic on the auction house website:

That's a pretty nice piece of wood on that '03a3! It would be nice on a rifle that's not fit for restoration if its of good quality inletting.

Chuck, kinda reluctant to commit to anything till I actually receive the gun (hopefully this week). The auction house is supposed to be shipping this week.

Once I've actually examined the rifle and confirmed that the metal is unmolested, I'll have a better idea of what I will do.
