    Info on Jungle Carb

    I have a No.5 Jungle Carb that has no ser.# stamped on butt socket.(No sign of it being removed)No.on bolt is H25xx.Is this normal?Faint marking on left side No 5 MK 1 R??? and below that is 2/51 Broad Arrow On reciever and front sight.Rear sight marked SM.Any info appreciated.

    Jungle Carbines didn't have the s/n stamped on the buttsocket. It was electropencilled in that wonderful Britishicon way on the left side of the receiver near the ejector screw area. No 5 Mk I ROF(F) sort of thing, then a letter and 4 numbers for a s/n.

    It looks like it was refurbished in India and has the Ishapore re-inforcing screw which explains the stampings in the butt. If still all matching with a decent bore, it's worth $250-300 or so in Canadaicon. A bit less stateside.

    Appears to be a Fazakerley made piece.
