Would also appreciate an email PDF. Thanks Joe, joewill421@verizon.net

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. For those still having challenges with the PDF file, this web site article was "iFramed", "stickied" and placed at the top of this forum in January.

M1 Garand - Rifle of the Millions

There's a lot of old training videos, articles and manuals gathered from around the Internet with some great content in those sticky threads for serious collectors of M1 Garand/M14/M1Aicon Rifles.

    Regards,
    Badger

At the end of the article, it says that a hard rain storm will put the Garand out of commission. In what way does this happen ? I don't see it, unless it refers to the kind of grease used. In that case it is a failure of the grease and not of the rifle.
I have seen posts, usually referring to the M14icon, stating that the action opens before the bullet has left the barrel. I have always disputed that claim. This article debunks that myth confirming what I have always believed.
The bolt cannot turn under the pressure still on the lugs, and case wall until the bullet exits.
