Question about markings on 1907 sling

What timeframe was a 1907 model sling manufactured with the following markings? "Chicago Belting Company" in an oval with H.E. below

CWG was the inspector - can't help with the PC, though. Obviously, the date of manufacture was 1917.

The list of contractors published by the Ordnance Department in 1918 indicates the Chicago Belting Co, Chicago, Ill., produced “Point Parts for Gunsling” and “Loop Parts for Gunsling” which I suppose means manufactured replacement parts rather than complete rifle slings. This firm is not listed in the WWII "Alphabetic Listing of War Supply Contractors."

Although not listed as manufacturing rifle slings, Perkins-Cambpell Co, Cincinnati, Ohio, usually marked their production “P-C Co.”. Plant Brothers and Co, Manchester, NH did produce rifle slings, but I think the sling in question was manufactured by Perkins-Campbell Co.

BTW the Ordnance Dept was consistent in identifying the carrying devices for small arms as “Sling” and almost everything else as “Strap” as in canteen strap, haversack strap and etc. The Ordnance Department in the list of contractors, and in official documents consistently identified these as "Gunslings."
