Musket, Mine looks just like yours. I actually called SA inc thinking the same thing. They told me mine was manufactured in late 1981 (mine is serial number 227 so its really close to yours) but they couldnt tell me the actual porduction numbers, which I still think is a little weird...

Phrog, you indeed did well. I often kick myself for not purchasing the (3) Italian-Made Beretta BM-62's (Imported by Berden in 1981) at B & B Sales in North Hollywood, California in 1982 for sale price of $679.00 each. These were fresh and unhandled imports, unblemished metal, perfect - unscratched furniture. They had on hand 26 untouched factory 20-round magazines for the astronomical price of $35.99 each. The salesman slapped all (3) factory boxed rifles on the counter and asked to ring them up. I spent those funds and some more cash on a long forgotten car purchase.
