Changed out STD PRODs Barrel Band

I changed out my Barrel Band out today and replaced with a type 3. After looking at the band I had on it, I'm pretty sure it was cut down Type 3. I would have kept it on there, but the sling swival was missing. Took some pictures, look at the old band, see if you think I'm right. My Grandson Brandon and I are going to another gun show tomorrow to Browse. I would like a Saginaw or National Postal Meter.

I vote cut down.... but then, again, I am still trying to find an honest politician to vote for....

Collector value aside, its probably going to shot tighter groups with the type III band anyway.

Rusty, it looks to be cut. I like it with the type 3 on it, and now you can use a sling. Hey, you and Brandon have a time at the show!!! Hope you find a good one, let us know.....Frank

4th vote for it being cut. (I'd also rather have an authentic type 3 than a faked type two)

Are there any markings on it? Read somewhere that IBM used T2's that were
unmarked and ends of inner and outer bands were flush like yours. I don't
see any burrs and finished end of inner band appears to have rounded edges.
To close to call for me.. hang onto it. I may have a swivel if you want it.

I'm not so sure its fake. I'd need to have it in my hands to tell for sure. There are certain things that make me wonder.

Yes sir it may just be real, think I'll hang on to it and investigate it a little more and compare to a known real one. Because if it was cut they did a bang up job on it. Ive looked at a lot of pictures on the internet, and mine seems to look just like theirs. Thanks for your input.

I was just on e-bay and there is a type 2 barrel band that is identical to mine. I don't know what to think.

Think POSITIVE!!! Keep it. If it's cut down..so what. If not cut down, it's only gonna be worth more. Just my 2 cents worth.
