    Lightbulb I Got A Feeling

I just discovered the world of air guns, airsoft, pellet,bb guns.I always ignored these in the past, but at Walmart bought a Crossman Pro 77,CO2 powered BB gun. This thing looks like, feels, made like a small GLOCK.And I made an indoor range in the basement. It shoots and handles like a real gun. With the price of ammo going thru the roof, closing of gun ranges, high gas,and super hot weather all summer,at least here in Ohio,I think the future of shooting is heading here.I was amazed after reading about this field on the web.The cheap plastic $20.00 guns are junk, but move up to the $70.00 plus gun and it is amazing.I saw a MP40 all metal "green gas" full auto gun for $180.00.In COMBAT HANDGUNS they have an article on using these as trainers for the police and miltary. Its about the new SIG SAUER P229 gas gun ,sold by SIG SAUER.This is the gun I carry in .40 caliper, and for $300.00 you can get one that you can shoot in your basement for nothing compared to real ammo. The best part is they are making WW11 realistic weapons ,in semi auto and full auto with no licence needed. So you can get a MP40 that looks, feels, handles like the real thing for $180.00.Now I will never give up collecting and shooting the real thing, but this gives you a choice to practise in your basement anytime. And you can introduce new shooters to the shooting sports.

I get feelings too when I think about Airsoft... though my feelings are decidedly opposite to yours - LOL.

What bothers me most is that wanna-be Columbiners who aren;t responsible enough to pass muster on acquiring the real thing will feed their fantasies with these "toys" that aren't really just toys. Next thing you know, they get their hands on the real thing and we all face a new wave of feel-good lefty gun bans.

Hey,Like it or not, this is the leading edge of a major trend,in the shooting world. This is a tiger bye the tail case, where toy"s are crossing the line into real weapons.Major gun companies are jumping on board, and are putting their name on these. On the positive side the police, and miltary are using these as a new training tool that is cost effective and offers real interaction in training, you can shoot your bad guy,and sting him, without legal force. And shooters can shoot at home,in your own basesment.Nobody knows what the fallout from this will be,but we are already facing new waves of anti-gun laws.Airsoft is only one part, new high tech tools are being devolped, like "hop up",for example. The scary part is they are making some of these in real gun calipers.I see lawmakers trying to make these the same as real guns.I never said I like all of this,I just tried to get a picture of this new trend, and point it out.Hey they might make a whole new class of gun"s that don"t need primers, power, and brass, with the cost of this present method going up out of sight,we might be forced to look at this new trend. The average working person is being priced out of buying a cheap mil-surplus gun and ammo.
