    Italian M1D? no pics

I was doing an information search and accidently found what was listed: Italianicon Small Arms Inventory. The M1D was still listed but I'm thinking that OBSOLESCENT must be the Italian way of saying they don't still use it. I didn't know that there was .308 M1D's. Here is how it's listed on the site. Was there a 2.5x scope or is it listed incorrectly?

    Garand M1D
    Calibre: 7.62×51mm
Origin: Pietro Beretta SpA, Gardone Val Trompia (licensed from USAicon).
Use: Armed forces: limited service. In use with Alpini. OBSOLESCENT.
    Details: Libby-Owens-Ford 2.5× scope.
