    Dating a K11

I recently purchased a K11 carbine and I'd like to confirm the date of manufacture. It has serial number 2005 with a P underneath the serial number. I read on swissrifles that the P can mean the soldier retired and took his rifle with him and also there are serial numbers "P2001-P2300, Private series entry in the export book of Waffenfabrik Bern" Another possibilty I see is the four digit serial numbers listed in "Model 1911 Carbines (Karabiner) Converted from Model 1889/1900 Short Rifles and Model 1905 Cavalry Carbines". Looking for some direction from the swiss rifle afficianodos here. Thank-you. Here is a photo of the receiver.

Thanks, because of the low serial # per the swissrifles list I wanted to determine if it's an orginal K11 or a conversion of an earlier rifle. Doesnt matter to me unless the receiver is not meant to fire the GP11 ammo.

I received info from the swissrifles board and my K11 is a "Model 1911 Carbines (Karabiner) Converted from Model 1889/1900 Short Rifles" manufactured in 1901 and converted later. OK to use the GP11 ammo and I am happy with my first trip to the range with it.
