    Question Spring Cleaning

While Spring Cleaning an acquaintance came upon an Winchester Model 1897
12 gauge Trench Gun. No Sling or bayonet but he claims it has a lot of bad memories attached and he'd like to get rid of it. Part that bothers me is he also claims to have a 16 gauge. I never heard of the military using 16 gauge.
Any body care to venture what the 12 gauge might be worth?
    Any help greatly appreciated.

Without detail and good close photos, no one can give you a figure other than a guess.. so I will start with what you give.....$100-$13000. That is the range that I have seen.

I've seen US proofed Ithaca 37s in 16 GA and I own a couple of boxes of US 16 GA shells. They were probably training guns or guns that personnel could sign out for hunting back in the day. FWIW.
