    Korea:Canada's Forgotten War

Korea:Canadaicon's Forgotten War by John Melady
    Pub.1983 ISBN 0-7715-9780-0

The book has a lot of great first hand accounts of indviduals who were there. The author interviewed veterans who were in the front lines, the navy, doctors + nurses,RCAF + the ones who were in Japanicon.Theres a few stories from Pierre Burton + on Fred Demara the man who joined the RCN as a doctor + was after serving 6 months on the Cayuga + doing a number of operations was found out he had stolen medical certificates + impersonated as a doctor.Theres alot of good pics + in the back there's an honour roll of all the troops who lost there lives.Theres also a list of medals + awards given to each soldier from Canada + allied countries.

It dosen't go into great detail of all the battles that Canada was involed in,can anybody reccommend one.

Next on my reading list is The Price of Command,a biography of General Guy Simonds by Dominic Graham

Thanks, it sounds like a great book about a war too many have forgotten!

Google up "Re-thinking the Korean War." Very revealing to learn the REAL reasons we entered into the Forgotten War.

I remember reading a story about a group of Canadians, I believe they were the Princess Patricia Brigade who were pinned down on a hilltop and stood their gound till help arrived...

I'm very happy that Canadaicon is our friend, probably closer to family the way we squabble, but always back each other.
