    WWII AP ammo

    Hello all,

New member and I think I am going to like this forum a lot from what I have seen so far. I've been a shooter all my life and, at age 63, have accumulated my share of guns and gun stuff including the required garand, carbine, 03-A3, and 45 auto.

I have a significant amount of WWII AP 30-06 from Denver, St Louis and maybe other plants that I got in a trade many years ago. Most of it is in sealed Spam cans of 220 rounds, but a couple of the cans were open so there are sealed 20 round cardboard boxes as well. What I am wondering is if anyone is interested in owning some of this and I thought that you guys with garands that are complete with slings, bayonets, cleaning kits, etc., don't really have a complete WWII set without some of this ammo and I would rather see you guys get this ammo than selling it to some dealer. Sorry if this is the wrong forum - not really placing an add just yet, only wondering if there is enough interest for me to put something in the quartermaster store. As you guys know, bullet weight and loads are important with regard to the Garandicon, as the op rod can be damaged with the wrong load. Even though this ammo is corrosive, that just means you need to do a soap and water cleanup of the barrel and gas cylinder, and this ammo is designed for the Garand, so shooting it would certainly not be a worry. As I mentioned, all of the 20 round boxes are sealed - that isn't much protection, I know, but the brass is only slightly dull and the bullets are perfect. Of course the spam cans are sealed metal cans, so they would be like the day they were packed. Anyway, sorry to ramble on - just let me know if anyone is interested - got a few thousand rounds.

I would be interested in some to go with the WW 2 displays I set up at military conventions, airshows, county fairs etc. I would be particularly interested in anything from Denver or Lake City - I live in Colorado and my mother worked at Lake City durring WW 2 and Korea.
Can you send me some photos of the cans and markings, also the boxes.
