Arisaka Type 30 Bayo Toyoda Sharpening?

Just purchased this Type 30 bayo and at first I thought someone did a bad job of just sharpening the last half of the blade. I did some googeling and I found a few other Toyoda manufactured bayos with the exact same type of sharpening. Its about the last 10 inches of the blade. Wondering if this was done during manufacture or maybe later at an overhaul?

From what i can gather with these, That's how they were sharpened at the factory. They all look pretty much the same.
