    some early parts

Attachment 15426Attachment 15425Attachment 15424Attachment 15423Years ago while buying early gas trap M1icon rifle parts, I thought that now is the time to pick-up early AR-15 parts. These AR-15 parts and magazines were easy to find and the prices were right!

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Very sweet! The early "duck bill" three prong FH and the waffle mags are worth serious money! I wish I had the ones I had in the 80s and early 90s still. At one time I had three complete sets of early green painted brown fiberglass furniture!!!!! I also had an early 1/14 barrel.

    Early AR-15 parts

The 1x14 twist barrel is very rare, I have a heavy barrel blank that is chambered for the 5.56mm with a 1x14 twist but never finished.

The early flat front sight base is also found on the three digit Colt SP1 rifles

Remember that the US Army told the G.I.'s to dump the waffle magazine (remember the comic book) and they were not worth much years ago - nobody wanted themAttachment 15428

This old photo shows some early plastic - note the very rare black stock

Wow, that is one of the early SMG stocks, isn't it? That's the green furniture I had. I had one of the sets that was about 95%. I used it and the one duck bill 3 prong I had to make an SP1 into an early one. Sold it about 1992 for a lot less than it would get now! I thought it was ugly (Ugh, I was STUPID!!!!). The other stuff I traded off at gunshows.
