A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. I've looked high and low, and haven't managed to find one, so I'd say pretty rare!

    Do you have pics?

They're not exactly dropping out of the trees in this neck of the woods either.

Are we talking about a 1903 dated:
    a) SMLE Mark I.
    b) SMLE Mark I Cond.
    c)SMLE Mark II Cond.

Or is it a 1903 dated rifle that has been upgraded to a SMLE I*, I** or I***?

If it's an SMLE I***, it's not that hard to find, the others are a greater challenge.

If I have one they must be fairly common

Sorry, not '03 though. One thing in it's favour is it's still a MkI*

waddaya mean? It fits all the criteria of the op's inquiry... it's not as if I came in late with the elbow

John Crusher... did you have a particular model in mind? As you can see from the responses there are a few to choose from.
