    M-1 Build

i am putting together a M-1 garand from parts. Starting with a IHC barrelled reciever ( 1964 springfield barrel). (CMPicon sold these several years ago) My question or concern is since the reciever and barrel are very dry (from storage) are there any problems that I might encounter. The bolt has been headspace.

Plus one what bar said , If it was me though , I'd start with a small stiff brush and a can of cosmolineicon and rub it into the finish real well then wipe it down and continue .

I hope your project turns out well

I would put oil on and let it soak in then wipe off excess and repeat in a couple days

    Talking Grease

I prefer rifle grease. The same kind that is in those little plastic jars with the yellow lids. Just use old tooth brush and rub it out very thin. It will last longer than any oil will.
