OK, that does it... If CMPicon can't get their forum board up and running soon, I will NEVER buy another CARBINE from them again!

(But I haven't started on the garands yet...)

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... What does the CMP forum have to do with buying a carbine from them? The forum is independent of their E-Store which is working fine?

    Ramboueille,

Well, I figured if temper tantrums were good enough for my 14 year old daughter, they are good enough for me... I just haven't figured out how to stomp my foot in an online forum.

Seriously, most the people that know me know that I am an obnoxious pain who often makes rediculous statements and pass them off as humor. The pun of the statement is that CMPicon is out of carbines and doesn't expect to receive any more for sale - ever. Therefore, I won't be buying a carbine from CMP regardless of the forum status.

As implied, I do plan on taking full advantage of the garand sales (regardless of the forum status) once I recover from all the carbine purchases I have made lately. Those damn little things can get expensive after a while!

    Don't ever say never.

I've heard before they were not getting more, then came the "Fats".

You just never know. You can bet they would not pass on something if it became available.

i think it was meant as a joke as, according to orest there will be no more carbines ever. hence why Tired will still buy garands from them.

    funny actually, imho.

    About the CMP

I'm not exactly a CMPicon fan, and besides the Garand is outside the genre of my collection, thus I can be dispassionate about it You do not need the Forum to buy from CMP That facet of their site is usually up,and running. Moreover the CMP is one of the few agencies that will take your order over the phone. Additionally with the now shortage of M1icon carbines you who collect these two rifles should be prepared for price increases. As far as the Forum is concerned, there are several threads on this site that deal with the M1, and all of it's variants Why in God's name do you need the CMP Forum You can talk M1 all you want on this forum You can go on Yesterdays weapons and talk M1 until you fall on your face. You can go on a dozen different forums and talk M1 all you please, and there are plenty of folks to talk M1 with. Moreover they are just as knowledgable about it as Orest Michaels. To come on these other forums and complain about the CMP forum not being up is insulting to those who make this forum available to you
