Flea Market find is this rare?

Attachment 16716Attachment 16717Attachment 16718Attachment 16719Attachment 16720Attachment 16721I was at a Flea market today in Decatuer Alabama and found this M1icon Carbine. It has Underwood on the receiver but it is lined out. It has BA stamped on the dove tail and sports a Winchester serial number. I guess it is a variation of a Winchester but don't know what it is worth, I only paid $350.00 for it.

Is it import marked? Also is the barrel Underwood? Looks like an Inland stock with a WRA Recoil plate. Round bolt with Type 3 band on front. Thats about all I can tell from the photos. Even a total, import marked Mix master is well worth $350 in todays market. There is another Niche for line-outs etc. Not sure if this qualifies. Maybe a Carbine Expert will chime in.

It is not an import and it has a Winchester stock. It has a 6,5 serial number which is a Winchester number, and has a Winchester barrel with the W and WP oval marked in front of the barrel band. It has some interesting parts which are all Winchester. It has a real nice gray/green parkerized finish with a blued round bolt marked with a W. It is a real nice looking rifle, I hope I did not pay to much for it! I think the B stands for Singer Sewing Machine which made receivers for Underwood. Gosh I hope I made a good purchase.

Looks like a very nice correct late Win to me. They (Win) didn't put WRA/GHD on the stock in the late ones. The adjustable sight looks new and was probably original to the receiver by the absence of staking marks. The finish looks too dark for Win but that could be the light. In any event it is just wonderful for $350.

The person who sold it to me has four more and I am going back tomorrow to look at them. He said one had a funny name like Irwin Pedersen or something, it was priced at $300.00.

Is it possible the 'BA' on the receiver is for 'Benicia Arsenal'?
