WTK Irwin Pederson m1 carbine markings?

I have an Irwin Pederson m1 carbine. The previous owner from whom I purchased the rifle from stated that the rifle was handed down to him from his grandfather. He stated it that his grandfather was issued the rifle while in the military. He later carried it in his patrol car when he was in service as a police officer. The receiver is marked irwin pederson and is in the correct serial number range. The barrel is marked with the "flaming bomb". It does not appear that the other parts on the rifle are marked IP. I am having a difficult time finding any information in terms of history and correct marking for the rifle. Is it a rebuild? I have read somewhere that some of the IP rifles were built with misc. parts etc. Thanks for any help in advance.

If no parts are marked with IP or any other letters with a P at the end, then are any parts marked with S'G' ?

What markings do the parts have and what parts are marked?
A picture of the parts you are asking about would help very much.
Most parts were made by subcontractors and will be marked with the code of the subcontractor and the primary manufacturer's code. An example would be the safety could be marked IP-A. Another wrinkle to the IP's is that Saginaw took over the contract and then the primary code changed from IP to S'G'.
Ip only made the receiver, bolt, hammer, slide, trigger and trigger housing if I remember correctly of the top of my head. Only those parts will be marked IP only. There is a whole lot more to the story and I hope this helps, but a picture of the parts you would like an ID of would help more than any words.

The safety is marked J.A.O. The stock is marked HI. The mag release is has an M on it. The bayonet band has a SA on it. The rear sight has a shield with an H in it. I am not sure what other parts have markings on them. Thanks for the help.

Arsenal rebuild. Still worth a helluva lot. I had an original S'G' carbine with an IP marked mag release.

Yes it is an arsenal rebuilt. May have been the one he carried in the millitary but highly doubtful. Most likely a DCM gun from the early 60's. Your carbine is still in the area of $1500-$2000 with the IP name and good condition. The parts you listed are late WWII parts from rebuild and manufactures contracts. IP's like all the other makers, were rebuilt from WWII left over parts stock, good WWII used parts and some postwar parts. It is a "mixmaster" as we collectors call them. Glad we could help.

It's all still being researched. Agree with Dave, pics would help a lot. Mike.
