Advisory Panel
I'll tell you what, when I get back into work at the shop next week, I'll give the senior examiner at Imports Branch a call to see just what the facts are. They definitely aren't military so I would have to pleasantly disagree with your assessment. Maybe I can kill the rumor mill on these rifles. Stay tuned. Brian

Last time I checked (a few months ago) AIA's website was gone. Can anyone in Oz confirm if they're even still in business?

Refer back to my post #16, the not shipping to the US again came from the "horses mouth" and I do wonder if they are still manufactured. Kyle told me in a email the new prices and they were going ballistic so probably that alone would be the nail in the coffin for producton.
They are great and one person who has posted in this thread was offered one via me as I have a friend that will sell one. It is one of the rarer No 4 Mk IV with the heavy barrel and he turned it down as apparently importing it to the US is so expensive. It is still for sale and if someone is VERY SERIOUS about buying it send me a pm. as my friend really hates tire kickers.
They are great shooters and I had a chance to buy a used 7.62 X 39 but turned it down as the guy wanted new price, think I should have bought it as now none are up for sale. Oh well live and learn.
Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?

Glad I got my carbine model when I did. There were 2 and I could have had both.

Yeah 303T missed out again.
By the way that 7.62x39 is every bit as gorgeous as the M10 B4. Biggest difference is that it really prefers hand loads to the corrosive Czech stuff. Seems to like the non corrosive South African and Chinese non corrosive though.
Still, it will shoot hand loads as well or better than most sporters. They certainly make a beautiful set.

AIA M10 A2 7.62X39 2012 value
I'm going to look at one in Arizona soon, described as 'near mint' with original two magazines and case. I see some of you members on this old thread own them, I've done the research. I realize they were $700 new from Gander Mountain etc. Have they appreciated? Asking price is $799+tax with some wiggle room. Thanks for any thoughts, Don

Good question, they are still desirable, still rare, and probably hold their value.

Hoping when our friends in America wake up (I'm posting from England, 8 hours earlier in Arizona) we'll get some thoughts on valuation.

Well I paid 700 Canadian (7.62X39) for mine and it came with 2 mags. It was a fair price and worth it IMO but what do I know?? From what I know there are only 59 of this model in Canada so hard to find. I missed a couple but as mentioned finally bought one. Have put around 500 rounds thru it and it is very accurate considering the crappy ammo.
drweiler, if you want one I think the price is Ok, a little high but you may not get another chance. I can't remember how many were imported into the US but not many compared to the ratio of shooters. Make sure it has 2 mags as they are impossible to find. I just had some idiot offer me a gun for one of my mags, just have a inkling he was trying to steal the mag. If you buy it and want a original cheekpiece send me a pm as I know where they are available in Australia, and there aren't many of them left.
