    Hand Guard Metal

There are a lot of new handguards without the metal. Can the metal be purchased?

Not that I know of. You'll need the sheet metal and the rivets. Maybe someone can post a drawing so a correct part can be fabricated.

And the special rivet setting tool (note the set in the lower jaw). The tubular ended rivets minimized wood splits.

(This set-up wouldn't work "as-is". You would need either a small diameter top set for the rivet head, or a custom built hand tool.
