Sad loss of Chris Steed (Steed & Perrins)

Thought I,d post this here as I know some members will know of UK icon

RFD, Chris Steed, (Steed & Perrins).

Chris passed away on Sunday whilst walking his dogs, only found out just now after a call to his wife, she said she is tying up a few loose ends and should be back to normal in a week or so.

I said I would contact other RFD,s to let them Know of the situation, if anyone can do the same who read this thread.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. That's very sad news indeed. Chris was a real gentleman and a font of knowledge. I bought a couple rifles from him just last year and never imagined I wouldn't be seeing him again...
