Need Help To ID A Buttstock Oiler

I bought a 1924 Lithgowicon Enield and this was the goodie I found in the buttstock compartment. I have not found any info on the maker or origin for this oiler. The caps do not swap with US oilers so I don't think it's a modified one. FJF is the only marking on this oiler. Any help on it's origin, use or reference book would be greatly appreciated.

Looks more American than Britishicon, particularly the leather anti-rattle pad. Too short to be an '03 one, is it a Kragicon one?

    ?? Oiler

Hi, I can't help much, but I checked the Britishicon Enfield oilers website that covers Australiaicon and Canadaicon with nothing close. Also checked US Inspectors listed on Proof House with no luck for the FJF. It is not for a Kragicon. It looks like the '03 or'17 oiler, but not long enough, as they are about 6". Any sign of the one end being modified? I think the problem is the ruler you have was made in China and it is really 6" long not 4". Good luck, John

SARCO brought into this country many of them back in the 1980's. They came in from South Americaicon and were used with Thompsons.

That does not mean that is where they were made. They may have been surplus when purchased by a South American country.

That makes sence because of the length. They resemble the nickle oiler I had in the butt of my LL 8-41 M1icon when I received it in the 70s. This one just looks shorter.

I know they were not US GI. They may have been made in America, Europe, or maybe even somewhere in South Americaicon. The nice thing about these oilers is their quality is incredible. Very high quality, with an oiler that is stronger than our Nickle Plated Brass Oiler designed pre WWI.

I suspect that if Colt produced them for their overseas sales of Thompsons, we would know about it.
