    Regimental markings

My ex-Canadian Army M1917 rifle still wear some traces of red paint in the wood near the upper barrel band, the "non-stardard ammunition" stripe and also have the C-broad arrow marking on the buttstock.
In the right side of the buttstock have the following letters, regimental markings I think:

Does anyone know what army unit would be?
    Thanks in advance

I too have a 1917 with canadian markings. Mine has "55 RCA" over "24". Mine is a 7-18 dated winchester.

    Markings

RCCS is Royal Canadianicon Corps of Signals. Not sure on the "B" and the "III" but possibly B Company.

RCA is Royal Canadian Artillery. The line between the RCA and the 55 is a cancellation mark and can be a straight line or look like an aeroplane propeller. The 55 is the battery number, and the 24 is the rifle rack number, or, the 24th rifle issued to 55 Battery.
