A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Gravity,
How did this work out for ya?
I believe at one tme Century was offering services to assemble your kit... or do anything you wanted to it.
I found 'smiths who work on FAL's to be rare, when I was looking.

    Hi Midmichigun, thanks for asking.

I heard a lot of good things about Pat Jones of SAFLithgow.com in Idaho. I was fortunate to meet him in person at the recent Portland Expo Gun Show, and he sure knows his stuff. Exceedingly nice guy too, which is also appreciated.

He will be getting all my FAL work, period.

My thanks to all those who, mostly on another forum, recommended him.

Thanks again for asking, I hope this info is of use to others as well.

    Cheers.
