Smile .45 ACP at 300 yards from 8" bbl

I have fallen to the dark side after shooting full water base spray paint cans uphill from 300 yards.

You should have see the faces of the AR15 guys as I blew down their cans they had put up on the hill. I asked first and the laughed and said go ahead and try,,,LOL.

I did the same sort of thing at 200 with an M1icon Thompson on single rounds. A .45 round never thought it would go so far.

Did you scratch the hood of that Toyota resting the magazine on it while shooting? It sure as heck couldn't have been off hand.

I have shot the M1icon and M3 .45's and had hits off hand at 150~200 yards with no problem in my wasted youth but this was very surprising. I did hit the first can off hand but it took five shots so I braced up off the truck for the rest to save ammo. I put just short of 350 through the HK Sunday. Looks like I'll be selling some Enfields this month too,,LOL. Maybe I can put a wood forarm on it also.

I saw a man at the Wardlow Alberta full auto shoot once take a 1928 Thompson for the long shot. He went prone, tied up in the sling and ran the Lyman sight up to about 500 or so. He fired single and it took several to get on but he did hit it and get the gong swinging. We could hear the hits at that distance so it still would have hurt! Is your HK full or semi only?

Jim I did see some ARVN troops do amazing things with the M1A1icon and the M3. I did stuble in a hole one night with the M3 and loose off three rounds through the outhouse starting a whole nuther story. This carbine is an 8" SBR semi repeter waiting for the paperwork to clear for the silencer and belongs to a nice guy who hosted us till I can move away and get my own.
