    Scout regiment Scope Case

Just got off the phone w/ a local horse trader who has a scope but no case. I reckon I'll get the scope, but how much bother will rounding up a correct case be?

No rush, just getting an idea. Already overspent on other goodies! Everything seems to happen at once- "Time" doesn't work like it ought to!

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. They appear on that auction site fairly frequently. I suggest that you flick it to 'worldwide' when you look. I have seen one that certainly looked like a scout reg scope case but the seller didin't quite know what it was so I asked him the measurements. And it was. I bid a few ££ but didn't pursue it. As if I need one.......

One of these days...I'll do an on-line auction! I stay po' without the added temptation.

ETA: Ooh! I did- right here on Milsurps- and that didn't go quite as planned- esp. for Badger--Still working on that little scope, BTW.

General rule of thumb when I was doing a bit of "horse trading" in TEL SCT REGT a while back was the case would be about 10% of the total value- plus or minus a bit on condition. The trouble was, together some went for up to $800 and some sold for around the $300 mark- regardless of condition. It just depended on who wanted it at the time. I did pick up a pretty good case, just for the sake of having one if a nice 'scope came up without- but traded it to a mate for some other bits and bobs. I think I paid about $6o for it- would have been four years ago...
