A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. I can't really tell from your photo. But from what I'm able to see it looks like a repo to me.

Yep, looks like an aged repro. Single weld is a dead give away.

As far as being a legit USGI band it looks fine to me . If you can e-mail me some more pictures I can tell you for sure.

IRM,
Increase the picture size.
I can clearly make out the center and right side weld spots, while catching just a peek of the left weld.
Don't be to quick to judge.........
Or it may be off to the Gallows for most of us....

BTW, That barrel shows the bare spot where a early band sat, while being parked/Phosphated. Nice example... IMO
