    No4 Mk1* rear sight question.

I want to get a new(to me) rear sight for my No4 Mk1* I would like to get a Micrometer rear sight. Something more than just the 300 yards and 600 yard battle sights I have now. Im looking on ebay but its confusing me a little.

I see Mk1 sight but they are like $70ish and I see others that are marked Mk3 that are cheaper but I didn't even know they made a Mk3.. I think I need help from some of you more expert Enfield gurus.

    Thanks in advance.

    Lee Enfield No.4 sights

The sight you want is the Mark 1 micrometer type sight that adjusts the elevation by a threaded screw and knob.

The other Marks were wartime expedients to cut production time and costs. The Mark 2 is a simple 'L' type flip sight for 300 and 600 yards. The Mark 3 was a stamped sight, had a spacer washer, and a latch that got broken easily. The Mark 4 was a stamped sight, improved latch, and no spacer needed.

$70 seems quite high for a Mark 1 sight. They usually sell for about $20-$25 at Gun Shows, or Dealers in surplus items.

Use search term "enfield sight" - you will find more sights that way.

Ebay prices for milled rear sights are higher than the shops, if you're in the US, try these in this order; BDLicon LTD, Numrich, Springfield sporters, .
If you're outside the USAicon most of the US outlets can't export anymore, try in this order, BDL LTD, Numrich, they can both export.
To get the url and links go to enfieldresource.com, look under 'british 303 parts' on page one, there's quite a list of places with full parts lists, or look under the alphabetical index.
