Sweedish M41B Sniper rifle with matching scope and mount

I'm thinking about getting one of the Swedishicon M41B sniper rifles with matching scope etc. in 6.5 X 55 that Samco still has. Has anybody had any experience with one of these rifles? Thanks. Fred

A friend bought an M41B here in Mauserland. Scope was original (CAUTION: check that - don't pay a lot for a retrofitted modern scope) but the shooting was mediocre. Quite simply, it had been used much more than the average Carl Gustaf. Swedes are never shot out, but this one was definitely a "high-mileage" example. So don't be blinded by the scope thing - check the bore etc very carefully.

Thanks Patrick. I guess it'd be kind of tough for me to look at one first though because I don't live anywhere close to that place of business. Maybe I'd better hold off until I can see one up close, but then, why would any private seller want to get rid of a rifle that was a tack driver? Sigh...I don't know. Thanks for the advice though. I appreciate the input.

It would seem that that particular scope would be able to gather more light than the other two. Well, I like the looks of it and although I'm not sure about any guaranty concerning the bore, I might take a chance on ordering one. Thanks Doug.

    Hi,

I bought one of these rifles in 1998 and still own it. I guess I was lucky in that I bought it at a time when the good ones were still available. With quality match ammo my M41b groups sub-MOA at 100 meters, and I am not an expert rifleman. It has the 4x90 AJACK scope with matching numbers on bolt and mount. Great rifle, but I was told that today you must beware of scrap when you think of buying one that comes not from a collection...

    regards
    Ulrich

I have heard that Samco does "tinker" with these.
