A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. As I have said a zillion times before, there are actually TWO prices. The price YOU want to get and the price someone else wants to pay on the day. The price of a year ago has no real bearing on the matter as it could be more, a LOT more or less. Worse still, it could be a LOT less. Put it up for auction and that is the true price of any worth. That's only my opinion

If prices go too high, then people won't buy, they'll just make new - like No32 telescopes

They are worth about $50 USD/ Tell you what, I'll give you $200 just to make you happy

Seriously, you need to look around, compare and set your prices at a fair, reasonable offer. being up in Canadaicon you should take a look at collectorssource.com for some examples. You will see a couple going for @ $400-ish Canadian and they have been on the web site for quite a while, which means.........

Someone in the UK saw that too and has been trying unsuccessfully to sell their tripod, scope and case for 2000 Pounds; their starting price at least, on eBay repeatedly since then. Not takers as yet.

The one that reached 3600 Pounds was an immaculate matching set, serial number 25 IIRC. One of those sent to the UK for trials in 1944 probably. Hence the high price.

Much changes, much remains the same.
