No1 Mk6 front sight protector, ebay continues to astound

lee enfield No1 MK VI sight protector !!!RARE!!! No4 - eBay (item 120744027098 end time Jul-05-11 03:43:21 PDT)

OK, I think its pretty neat that folks are this committed to restoring their rare old rifle, and I also have to ask, what would that have cost to have some Afghani in the valley to file one up, or a local expert with a lathe to reproduce?

and btw, the seller has a pretty good list of other enfield for sale; anvil60 | eBay

At least he also has "No4" in the title. How would you tell the difference between the two (No.1 Mk.VI and an Enfield manufactured No.4 Mk.I)?

WAY more than I would have spent, even if I did need one, but ah's po'.

The Enfield markings and whatever machining process variations that would give a different surface texture and/or lay. Dimensionally- pretty much the same.

We got 4 or so of the last L42's a couple of years ago and lo and behold, it had a set of those sight protectors fitted and a button cocking piece too. That rifle/CES went to the NZicon Army at Waiouru
