    Finishing up a shooter

I bought a bottom feeder awile back and am finishing it up in a day or two to get ready for a test drive. I real excited about this one, its the first time in 2+ years I'm going to test fire myself and not my #1 son. I had some back problems, but, god willing they are all behind me! The gun was a 1942, complete mismatch, rebuilt some time in the 1950's with a completley shot out barrel. I replaced many parts back to 1942 but, like new gage wise Worked the trigger to a perfect 4.5 Lb pull and put on a Krieger barrel, this is the first time I using a krieger! I'm gaging it now to mil. spec and #1 son will be using it for CMPicon/Grand matchs. If the results aren't up to snuff, I'll pull it up to N.M specs. and have him get into different match's that allow the mods. Anyone out there ever use the Krieger barrels on the M1icon before? I've made fat barrel rigs with them and they all shot sub minute @ 300 yards and then some, will I get similar Results? Pics to come in a day or so. Steve

I have a standard size Krieger in .308 on my 3340115 SA M1icon. Most parts are the correct drawing number for the time frame. Colour doesn't match but it's a Dane return. It wasn't that bad to get the chamber finished and get top dead center so it shot to POA. The gas cylinder was mucho tight and required some careful fitting so it doesn't come off for cleaning. I just clean from the open end. No problems so far and I've put hundreds through it.
    Regards, Jim
